Over 17 years of field work with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Mr. White fitted radio collars on 421 goats in the Klukwan, Lynn Canal, Baranof Island and Cleveland Peninsula regions of southeastern Alaska.

Robidou, 32, was working with Kingfisher Charters, which operates a lodge in Sitka, a small port city on Baranof Island with a backdrop of a stunning volcanic mountain.

In footage recorded off Baranof Island in south-east Alaska, whales corral young salmon in “bubble nets”, then rise up from beneath and swish the fish into their mouths with elaborate movements of their pectoral fins.
