A former manager of an El Cajon company pleaded guilty Wednesday to hiring undocumented workers, the culmination of a federal investigation that included an undercover agent and an armed raid at the powder coating and sandblasting company earlier this year.

On Wednesday, the mercury could hit 118 degrees in Palm Springs; 103 in Palmdale; 101 in San Bernardino; 100 in Santa Clarita, Woodland Hills, Ontario, Lake Elsinore and Paso Robles; 98 in Riverside; 92 in Temecula; 89 in Anaheim, Escondido and El Cajon; 87 in downtown Los Angeles; 83 in Irvine; 82 in San Luis Obispo; and 78 in Santa Barbara.

It was burning about nine miles northeast of El Cajon and 22 miles northeast of downtown San Diego.
