Donald B. Childs, 46, of Northwest, was shot on the 100 block of Farragut Street Northwest around 2:45 p.m. on July 30.

It is a tribute to the crass pettiness of Tennessee’s political hacks that a statue of Admiral David Farragut was removed along with Forrest’s likeness.

Farragut North, Metro Center and Gallery Place stations will be closed to Red Line trips as Metro repairs tunnel and track infrastructure, upgrades communication systems and installs new platform edge lights.

The next killing occurred around 11:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Farragut Street NW, where D.C. police said a Maryland man died from gunshot wounds.
