Dog ownership, defying Iran's mandatory hijab laws, attending underground parties and drinking alcohol have long been forms of quiet rebellion against Iran's theocratic regime.

She alleges ICE has refused her pleas for prayer materials, denied her a meeting with a Muslim chaplain and even attempted to take her hijab.

She became the first person ever to compete on the show wearing a hijab and says she gains strength from wearing it.

It says that textbooks advocated by the Taliban promote its political and military activities, and prohibited the mixing of men and women, as well as endorsing the enforced wearing of the hijab.
