It took place at the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza at 10:15 BST on Saturday and the child is now "in a stable condition", according to the organisers.

Chris Williams, director of Llandudno Community Events Cic, said an investigation by the ride operator found it had been caused by "human error".

The Llandudno Victorian Exchange, which ran from Saturday until Monday, described itself as "Wales' largest free family event".

"If we didn't volunteer, we were told we'd never fly again and be made to join the infantry or go down a mine," said Mr Latham, 101, from Llandudno, Conway, Wales.

David Ellerton, 65, John Paul Rodrigues, 63 and Nelson Rodrigues, 65 are fondly known as "the three amigos" by staff and guests at the Empire Hotel in Llandudno in Conwy, north Wales.
