That official texted another OPA official in mid-October 2020 that the leak would "be our last play on them before the election but it's a big one."

Interim Chief Sue Rahr, appointed by Mayor Bruce Harrell last week to replace Adrian Diaz, reinstated Tyrone Davis after a review of an investigation begun by the independent OPA two weeks ago.

“Per new information and a review of the OPA investigation, Assistant Chief Tyrone Davis was restored to full duty,” according to the department’s public information office.

Diaz relieved Davis, a 25-year department veteran, two weeks ago after a complaint was filed with OPA.

The nature of the allegations was not made public, and OPA is prohibited from discussing them.
