Pacific time vs. Eastern time: What’s the difference?

Pacific time is exactly three hours behind Eastern time. For example, when it is 4 p.m. in Eastern time (such as in Philadelphia), it is 1 p.m. in Pacific time (such as in Los Angeles). Moving westward, the standard time zones go from Eastern time to Central time to Mountain time to Pacific time.
