Newey is an aerodynamicist by trade, but he doesn’t just apply the physics and look at the numbers produced in wind tunnels and computer simulations.

It’s a remarkable record that speaks volumes for the magic Newey provides not only as a visionary aerodynamicist but as an all-round engineering genius.

He wasn't an engineer for a team, he wasn't an aerodynamicist.

And I do remember my first job was as an aerodynamicist at Fittipaldi, which was a small F1 team, whose technical director was Harvey Postlethwaite.
