Lortie and Rozell beat another El Camino Real duo, Aja Najar and Mackenzie Hazelton 28-20 in the pairs final Tuesday after escaping Taft’s Eva Velarde and Laila Braimah 28-24 in the semifinal round.

There is a soaring quality to much of the album, particularly the aptly named “Fly Away,” featuring Aja Monet.

“Financial therapy is really about the intersection of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors around money, specifically focusing on how money plays a role in your life, relationships and patterns,” said Aja Evans, a licensed mental health counselor, financial therapist and author of “Feel Good Finance.”

Senior Aja Johnson of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, who won the 2023 state crown and was the runner-up last spring, finished second 48-01.00.

Dr Aja Murray, of the University of Edinburgh's School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences, who led the study, said: "Emotion regulation skills are acquired from early in life and are thought to strengthen gradually over childhood. Children, however, acquire these skills at different rates and slower acquisition may serve as a marker for neurodevelopmental and mental health issues. Our findings suggest that monitoring trajectories of emotion regulation over development could help identity which children are at risk of mental health issues."
