Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and its training academy in the Berkshire Hills in Massachusetts, is where Bernstein studied with Serge Koussevitzky, then the director of the ensemble.

The scholarship has been awarded annually since 2003 to a high school student from the Berkshire Hills region of western Massachusetts who plans to major in journalism or music, Pearl’s passions.

This year, from June 30 to August 29, the 220-acre campus in the Berkshire Hills will thrum back to life with outdoor staged shows and roving performances where the audience trails the company.

Tucked away along a winding wooded road in the Berkshire Hills, Jacob’s Pillow transforms into a bustling campus each summer.

Our daughter attended Summer's at Berkshire Hills Music Academy for many years and discovered a deep and abiding love of music.
