Deputy Louise Doublet made the comments after a public hearing where Tom Binet faced questions from a scrutiny panel and was questioned about steps to tackle issues some women faced.

Speaking in the assembly, Health Minister Tom Binet said the vote was a "very important decision for our island".

Sophie Binet, the general secretary of the CGT union, called on the government to take action and ensure the social needs of the employees are met.

“We want the government to take immediate action to ensure the success of the Games,” Sophie Binet said.

The vote was brought by former infrastructure minister Tom Binet, who said he was unhappy with the way decisions were being made.
