"TSPO could be of relevance both for clinical studies on NPC as for clinical routine. PET imaging might be difficult with young patients, as they need to stay calm while in the scanner. "From medical and economic standpoints, therefore, it seems reasonable to give these patients a CSF analysis in the first instance unless there are specific medical reasons to indicate otherwise," says Brendel.
