Lloyd George, David

  1. A British political leader of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; he was prime minister of Britain at the end of World War I and afterward. After the war, at the negotiations that produced the Treaty of Versailles , Lloyd George opposed President Woodrow Wilson of the United States, who was relatively conciliatory toward Germany . Lloyd George called for squeezing Germany “until the pips squeak.”
