In 1973, the former Israeli diplomat, Abba Eban, quipped that the Palestinians "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity".

Her daughter Katherine Eban said the cause was complications of Lewy body dementia.

In addition to Ms. Eban, she is survived by another daughter, Claire Finkelstein, and four granddaughters.
