Lynne Franks, who provided the inspiration for Absolutely Fabulous character Edina Monsoon, says she pushed for a fashion week in London out of frustration - intent on giving the city a dedicated floorspace to promote its prowess, in keeping with other fashion capitals such as New York, Milan, Paris and Tokyo.

He made drawings and paintings, too, and some nice ones appear among the 112 works in “William Blake: Visionary” at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, curated by the museum’s Edina Adam and Julian Brooks in cooperation with the Tate Britain, where the show originated.

The Getty exhibition, organized by assistant curator of drawings Edina Adam and senior curator of drawings Julian Brooks, is a trimmed version of a huge one put on by Tate Britain in London, which was scuttled in 2020 by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He plans to make three pies based on his favorite show, “Absolutely Fabulous,” which will include hand-painted portraits of Edina and Patsy.
