Heal the Bay monitors beaches along the California coast — testing water samples for fecal bacteria, including coliform, E. coli and enterococcus.

It is said to be one of the more polluted rivers which Congolese scientists say contains high levels of fecal matter and other waste.

The suit alleged that the ranching operations were harming coastal waters, and cited examples from the park service’s own studies that found fecal pollution in some areas.

But their small lab is testing for fecal bacteria - not arsenic.

Excess ingestion may, however, cause urinary and fecal color change.
