Han Yu was kidnapped on July 20, 2015, and detained for 37 days in Beijing’s Haidian District Detention Center.

In May 2004 – three months after her father disappeared into a detention center – Han Yu received a call that her father, a Falun Gong practitioner, was dead.

Han Yu, a 24-year-old studying for his master’s degree, is one of those idolaters.

He was the nephew of the famous Confucian scholar Han Yu, of the Tang dynasty.

Han Yu sang a verse, in which the lines occurred: Tsin Ling Hill ’mid clouds doth lie, And home is far, beyond my sight!
