There are so many Iowans who were promised to see their life if they lived where they wanted to, where they grew up, and worked at the local factory.

“While Democrats fearmonger against strengthening the integrity of Medicaid, Senator Ernst is focused on improving the lives of all Iowans,” they said in a statement.

The law, which takes effect July 1, opens trans and gender expansive Iowans up to discrimination in housing, employment, education and public services.

“We've already seen sort of the ripple effect happen with Iowans, and I think we'll definitely see a larger increase now since Monday.”

But a lower court temporarily blocked the ban from going into effect after providers argued in a lawsuit that it goes against Iowans' constitutional rights.
