At the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries hilariously riffed on a Taylor Swift song when he compared candidate Trump to an old ex-boyfriend who keeps hanging around, saying, “Bro, we broke up with you for a reason. We are never, ever getting back together again.”

Jeffries said the budget comes from an out-of-control Trump administration, and described the proposal as un-American and unconscionable.

Jeffries said such efforts are part of a broader assault on the nation and democracy, and are why Democrats are holding town halls not only in their party’s districts but also those represented by Republicans.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries noted the reality of what his party is dealing with when the GOP controls “the House, the Senate, and the presidency. It’s their government.”
