“After 37 years of absence, the bust of Jim Morrison, stolen in 1988 from the Père Lachaise cemetery, has been found!” the Paris Regional Judicial Police Directorate on Friday wrote on Instagram.

The vast hilly complex, woven through with winding pathways, resembles a cross between Arlington National Cemetery and venerable burial grounds like Paris’ Pere Lachaise, with ornate tombs and fine-arts statuary.

A tourist at Père Lachaise, the cemetery in Paris where Cherubini is buried, is more likely to visit the neighboring grave of Chopin.

On the left, beside the male dancer, there’s only a sullen little boy watching from his bedroom — and another Lachaise drawing of a figure turning away.

Not as well-known as the largest cemetery in Paris, Père Lachaise, Montparnasse nonetheless has its share of famous literary, artistic and historic dead.
