It could be late in the day when the Czech Republic's 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova starts her quest on court 12 against American McCartney Kessler, winner of the Nottingham Open.

When I left the trail camp late in the day, the golden sun blanketed the tree-lined mountainsides.

“My heroes were the European street photographers — Atget, Kertész, Bresson. But here, the elements in the urban landscape are designed for cars driving by and they’re screaming for attention, and color is a big part of that. I do a lot of my shooting on weekends, Sunday mornings, and late in the day. The light comes through the atmosphere, sometimes smog, and you get color.”

“It’s late in the day. You don’t usually go this time of day. Nobody’s going to know where you are. Just don’t go.”

Monday will be fairly cloudy, but it will turn sunnier from the east late in the day, leading to a largely sunny Tuesday.
