A driver who inhaled laughing gas and killed a woman while speeding in a Mercedes has been jailed for five years.

For decades, it was a popular party drug among the English aristocracy, who reveled in “laughing gas parties” before it was first used as an anesthetic and analgesic in medical settings.

While the autopsy report did not specifically cite the “laughing gas” as a cause of death, it noted the canisters appeared ready to be inhaled, and raised concerns of a possible overdose.

A driver who was filmed inhaling laughing gas behind the wheel before a high-speed crash has been jailed for killing three teenage friends.

He said the Rialto Police Department conducted raids at automotive shops selling laughing gas to minors.
