They plan to arrive in Lerwick on Tuesday in time for the VE Day commemorations.

The Liberation Convoy will leave Bergen in Norway at 19:00 on Sunday and is scheduled to arrive in Lerwick on the morning of Tuesday 6 May where it will take part in a number of VE Day commemorations.

A 17-year-old boy was also taken to hospital for treatment following the incident, which happened at about 16:00 on Tuesday at Gremista marina, Lerwick.

It is served by a ferry which runs between the island and Shetland, and there are also regular flights from Tingwall Airport, just outside Lerwick, to the island.

For the first time in the event's 143-year-old history, women and girls joined the main "squad" at the head of the torchlit procession through Lerwick.
