In a sad coincidence resonating sadly with the death of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht were also murdered on a January day in 1919.

This censorship only serves the interests of the militarists who, as Karl Liebknecht reminded his fellow Germans in World War I, are the enemy within.

This is why, at the start of World War I in Germany, Karl Liebknecht called the German military, which imprisoned and later assassinated him, "the enemy from within."

Although Liebknecht is held in high regard, it is Luxemburg who has been stealing the limelight.

A recent tour took in the site of Eden, the hotel where Luxemburg and Liebknecht were brought by demobilised former soldiers, known as Freikorps to be beaten and shot.
