"He's the most lovable little boy who wants to help other people because of what he's gone through - I'm so proud of him."

Hine’s tousled little boy, who looks forlornly into the camera with scowling dark eyes beneath a furrowed brow, likely had no such liberating choice.

"Every time I step on the pitch I feel like I'm living the dream of that little boy who used to go to the stadium with his parents and who dreamed of one day being able to play football at San Mames," explains young midfielder Mikel Jauregizar.

"Someone was watching over me that day because I got to come home to my little boy," she says.

"But you were the last person to hold my little boy... you met Paul."
