Actress Saoirse Ronan's comment on The Graham Norton Show - in response to male actors joking whether anyone would actually consider using their phone as a weapon - has ignited conversations about women's safety and how little men know about it.

And then the next day, they’re clumsy little men desperately seeking a deal in order to survive, even if it’s a U.S. detention facility.

“I need to show them how to be good little men, and be productive in our community,” she said.

Today, it takes great events to make otherwise congenitally little men great; and that just isn't happening.

One could easily identify the many Little Men in our midst by name, but it would be petty, catty and tasteless to do so, even if that would extricate us from charges of unsupported generalization.
