Tar balls about 1-2 inches in size have washed up onto a beach at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch, New Jersey, the U.S.

The first reports of the balls came Monday, when Long Branch environmentalist nonprofit Clean Ocean Action posted on Facebook photos of balls that washed up in Monmouth County.

Crews are working to find out the impact the balls and oil may have had on a stretch of the Jersey Shore from Sea Bright to Long Branch.

And while both of the edited versions showed a tendency to drift away from synapses and into the neuron's axon, the long branch that extends from the cell body, the edition that clamped well prevented any overgrowth of synapses while the one that clamped poorly provided only a meager curb.

All four were taken to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch; there was no immediate word on their condition.
