About 80 residents have been led to safety after the roof of the building on Aberdeen Place, Maida Vale caught alight from the blaze which broke out at about 05:30 BST.

Tumbling into the BBC's Maida Vale studios, the band are boisterous and charming, the sort of people to greet a perfect stranger like a long-lost cousin.

They have been named in local media as Maida Berenice Flores da Silva, 58, and Tatiana Denize Silva dos Santos, 43.

During the incident in July 2020, the couple were pulled over by the officers in Maida Vale, west London, and searched on suspicion of having drugs and weapons, but nothing was found.

Valerie was originally released by indie band The Zutons, with Amy’s cover in Maida Vale studios gaining such attention it went on to be officially released on Mark Ronson’s album Version, which featured famous names covering other artists' songs.
