At Conservas Pinhais et Cia in Matosinhos, a fish-canning factory just a few miles from the center of Porto, visitors are invited to see that their new favorite treat is, in fact, a very old operation.

“In times of unprecedented challenges facing Europe and the world at large, it is the moment to contribute with bold, shared ambitions to solutions enabled by space,” write the ministers, who met in Matosinhos, Portugal.

The Matosinhos Manifesto spells out the three initiatives, which it says could “speed up the use of space to solve today’s biggest challenges.”

The journey back to Tondela, in central Portugal, from Leixoes' ground in Matosinhos, near Porto in the north-west, was only about 150km.

“Due to the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 crisis and given the impossibility of guaranteeing optimal conditions for the smooth passage of the race in the country, the municipalities of Porto, Matosinhos and Viseu, in agreement with Unipublic, organisers of La Vuelta, have decided to cancel the passage of La Vuelta 20 in Portugal,” Unipublic said in a statement.
