Households in Medway struggling to meet the cost of living can claim a share of £4m.

The money is shared out to local authorities to allocate, with Medway having £3,987,524 for the coming financial year.

Medway Council also said it would be giving free school meal vouchers to eligible families throughout the summer holidays.

Medway Council paid £7,180 for the same reason.

Jayne Black, chief executive of the Medway NHS Foundation Trust which runs the hospital, apologised to patients and said improvements had since been made.
