Eleven Colombians were arrested in �Ѿ�����Dz���á�� state last week in connection to a roadside bomb attack that killed eight members of Mexico’s National Guard.

The group headed by El Abuelo — whose real name is Juan José Farías Álvarez — is based in the western state of �Ѿ�����Dz���á��, which sprawls from heart of Mexico to the Pacific Coast.

“Where I come from, there are areas where the government and organized crime work together,” said Rosario Salazar, 42, a nurse from the central, violence-racked state of �Ѿ�����Dz���á��.

Los Alegres del Barranco, the band that flashed a picture of El Mencho in Michoacan, has tried to skirt the laws in recent days with karaoke events in which they play the music but project lyrics for the audience to sing.

But the long-standing controversy exploded back into public life this year after a concert in Michoacan state by the band Los Alegres del Barranco, which displayed images of Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, better known as El Mencho, who heads the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
