Police are investigating the death of a woman in a Montebello apartment and a man found dead inside a pickup truck nearby Tuesday night.

He’s now executive director of the Gateway Cities Council of Governments, which advocates for 27 cities stretching from Montebello to Long Beach to Cerritos and all the southeast L.A.

Montebello resident Rosa Maria Juarez, 96, doesn’t like what’s happening to the country, and in these tumultuous times, she has a strategy for getting through each day.

“I grew up in Montebello in a house where it was hard to relax because it was full of stuff. Having this space makes me feel overjoyed. Our apartment is a beautiful way to recharge our batteries every night.”

The family of three drove in from Montebello to see their favorite artist headlining the inaugural show at Pomona’s new venue.
