A San Diego County educator who once was named teacher of the year has been sentenced to 30 years to life for grooming and sexually assaulting two young boys in her elementary school classroom in National City.

She was arrested by the National City Police Department in March 2023 after the mother of one of the victims reported inappropriate messages she found between her son and Ma on a family tablet.

“It feels like it was just a photo op,” said Marcus Bush, a council member for National City and a member of the Air Pollution Control District who signed the petition to the EPA.

Tampatha Climons, one of the tenants, used to live in a two-bedroom apartment in National City, Calif., and worked in food service.

Operated by Crowley Maritime Corporation, the 82-foot eWolf will escort ships entering and leaving the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal using electric power instead of diesel fuel, helping slash greenhouse gas emissions at the port and its neighbors in Barrio Logan and National City.
