The warm pools are perfect for enjoying views of both the glacial-fed lake and the Purcell Mountains.

Heading back toward Spokane, where we’d first assembled, our foursome stopped near the town of Cranbrook to fish the St. Mary River, which runs cold and clear out of the Purcell Mountains.

Located at 7,700 feet at the top of the Purcell Mountains, Eagle’s Eye is an elegant restaurant with exposed beams, hand-carved tabletops and custom stonework.

The mountain has one lift, 400 acres of skiable terrain, two dozen runs and stunning views of the Purcell Mountains.

That search brought them to a recently burned peak in the heart of the Purcell Mountains.
