A 10m humpback whale has been rescued after becoming entangled in a shark net off Australia’s Gold Coast.

“I had a good look at it because I thought it might be in the shark net. I could see splashing. It just looked odd. Maybe it was shark feeding on the school behind the net before I came in.”

Humpback whale appears to be in a shark net at Manly, unfortunately.

Initially there was some concern that one of the whales had been caught in a shark net, but surfers said that was not the case.

The recreational diver found the whale caught in a shark net off the Gold Coast and untangled him, the report said.
