Lenny Scott, 33, was ambushed in the car-park of a gym in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, and shot six times with a handgun on 8 February 2024.

County Councillor Simon Evans, member for Skelmersdale Central, was elected deputy leader of the Reform UK group and is also expected to be ratified at the meeting along with councillors selected to form the cabinet.

Saturday will not be the first time Woods, who was brought up in Skelmersdale, west Lancashire, has stepped foot on Liverpool's pitch.

"I started barbering, working as a Saturday lad in Skelmersdale," says Woods.

The teenager died at the scene on Digmoor Road, Skelmersdale, after what was described in court as a "grotesque level of violence".
