President Vucic and his party remain in a relatively comfortable position, with polls indicating that the SNS remains the most popular party.

They are asking for change through the ballot box – even if it is far from clear who would run against the SNS.

The SNS has emerged victorious from no fewer than five parliamentary elections since it first formed a governing coalition in 2012.

Opposition parties are atomised - with no one single party capable of challenging the SNS, and an absence of a credible coalition.

This could, they suggest, establish an electoral environment that would reduce the SNS's domination of the media and state bodies.
