When we met the man - who we are calling Nam to protect his identity - he was carrying all of his possessions in a small black bag and had been sofa surfing around the UK for weeks.

Daniel Thomson is homeless and has been "sofa surfing" for four months.

This can range from sofa surfing with friends to living in B&Bs and hostels.

"There are so many different categories: there are people who have jeopardy around their tenancy; we've got the street homeless; we've got sofa surfing."
