If Tulsi Gabbard drops out of the Democratic nomination race in the coming days, her unique campaign is likely to be remembered more for her spats with the Democratic party, accusations of being a Russian operative and the imagery of her promise to “bring a soldier’s heart to the White House” than a realistic bid for president.

Gabbard began – she is from Hawaii, something she mentions a lot – while her staff handed out campaign leaflets which had a picture of Gabbard and the words “A soldier’s heart”.

It would permanently curl one soldier’s heart like a piece of hard shoe leather.

It’s respectful of veterans, but not of itself, ultimately quitting on its own ambitions — a theatrical case of soldier’s heart.
