“Sending propaganda to the millions on SSA’s lists is unprecedented & dangerous,” Kathleen Romig, a former Social Security official who now performs analyses at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, wrote on Bluesky.

The city recently came to an agreement with SSA Group, LLC to run membership, special events and publications, while The Superlative Group will run sponsorship programs.

The SSA had a reputation for long processing times, overburdened customer support and inefficiency, but appeared to be turning around under the leadership of Administrator Martin O’Malley.

In a post on X, the SSA - which is now controlled by a Trump appointee - said Biden had been "lying" during his Chicago speech.

“The result is a systematic dismantling of SSA’s core functions, leaving millions of beneficiaries without the essential benefits they are legally entitled to,” the lawsuit adds.
