The Supreme Court ruling was accepted by the Scottish government, with First Minister John Swinney saying Chapman's comments were "wrong".

Speaking at the Scottish Trades Union Congress in Dundee, John Swinney said the band's alleged comments had "crossed a line" and were "beyond the pale".

Earlier this year John Swinney pledged his government will bring down NHS waiting lists and make it easier to get GP appointments.

The Scottish government will issue "timely guidance" on the issue of single-sex spaces following the Supreme Court gender ruling, John Swinney has said.

At First Minister's Questions, Swinney was pressed on what the Scottish government is doing about last week's ruling - it had previously argued in court that transgender people with a GRC are entitled to the same sex-based protections as biological women.
