The Oxford English Dictionary is hoaching with new Scottish words - with beamer, bummer and tattie scone among 13 new entries.

Tattie scone - A type of flat savoury cake made with flour and mashed cooked potatoes.

Case in point: ‌His version of a ‌tattie scone, a breakfast staple of fried unleavened potato bread, ‌is an opulent one-bite, mayo-laced bao bun layered with Highland ‌Wagyu beef, truffle and a bump of caviar.

The humble tattie has become a part of the negotiation, and as a significant Scottish export, it's been targeted to put pressure on the government in London.

This has very little to do with tattie farming, and everything to do with the level playing field, which has been a major bone of contention in negotiations.
