More people walked up the dunes, including Dan Tauber, who said he’d been motorcycling around the area with friends before deciding to break off from the group to experience the launch.

Tauber and I sat together in the sand.

Tauber leaned back and said, “I’m just going to enjoy it. Take pictures for me.”

"This innovative pressure release valve opens automatically when critical pressure is reached, emitting a clearly audible warning signal," explains Dr Falk Tauber, co-author and project manager.

"The potential applications of these modules are enormous. We have developed a flexible 3D-printed robotic walker that is controlled by an integrated circuit using air pressure. The flexibility of the logic modules is demonstrated by the fact that this walker can even withstand the load of a car driving over it," says Tauber.
