Thelma Golden, the director and chief curator of the Studio Museum in Harlem, who’s a good friend of mine, always gave me this great advice: Art should be a daily practice.

Try to imagine “Thelma & Louise” crossed with Austen’s romantic comedy of manners, “Bridgerton” and some naughty sketch comedy, and you’ll have an approximation of the melange the creators are attempting.

They navigate the world like a Disney reboot of Thelma & Louise.

Thelma is now 87, Tommy is 89, Violet is 91, with Leslie now aged 94.

Thelma describes it as having been a flying visit for Tommy.
