Authorities say they believe Umar Hayat murdered Ms Yousaf at her home in Islamabad on Monday after she rejected what they called his "offers of friendship".

Only six of them have been released in five years, and some like activist Umar Khalid are still in jail, waiting for a trial to begin.

It was given to him in a cage by Umar Dolla, who runs another YouTube channel called Lion Hub.

Dr Umar Abdulmajid, a communications lecturer at Yusuf Maitama University in Kano, believes things may change.
