The authors speculate in their work about the “fascinating applications” of the cenotectic concept to planetary science, particularly for “icy worlds such as Europa, Enceladus, Titan, Ganymede, Ceres, Pluto, and potentially moons of Uranus Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon.”

Even today, Tyson and others remind us that celestial objects are often named for characters like Jupiter, Umbriel and Oberon from mythology, poems and plays.

Uranus is attended by four moons or satellites, named Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, and Oberon, the last being the most remote from the planet.

Sixty years afterwards, Mr. Lassell, of England, discovered the remaining two satellites of Uranus, called Ariel and Umbriel.

Only Umbriel, 740 miles in diameter and covered with overlapping meteorite craters but with few other features, seems to have been largely unaffected by Uranian gravity--for reasons scientists cannot explain.
