Jack Dreyer took the ball through the middle of the fifth and José Ureña — who signed with the Dodgers on Tuesday — pitched 2 ⅓ innings to help save bullpen arms ahead of a six-game trip starting Friday in St. Louis.

"He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving," Angel Ureña wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Mr Ureña's statement did not give more details on the Arkansas Democrat's condition, though US media reports indicate Clinton is expected to recover.

Earlier this year in the county, moderate Democrats in Calexico, an almost entirely Latino border city, led a successful recall campaign against two young, progressive members of the City Council, including its first out transgender member, Raúl Ureña, who accused opponents of transphobia.

“Today’s decision is a victory for those who believe that transgender people have the right to participate in sports just like everyone else,” Urena said in a statement.
