Urfa and Aleppo chile flakes were reached for to add flavor every bit as punchy as the bacon bits brought.

The designation comes from what tops the pleasantly chewy, egg-washed oval bagel: smoky Urfa chile, toasted garlic, roasted sesame seeds — pretty much “everything.”

The former are spoiled with some of the best spreads around, and the latter can graze away on a “spring picnic,” the contents of which include ground lamb seasoned with cardamom and sweet-smoky-sour Urfa pepper; chicken thighs brushed with toum, a potent whip of garlic, lemon and olive oil; blistered shishito peppers and more.

Their grilling set has a super delicious spice I’d never tried before, black urfa chili, which has a sticky consistency I didn’t think was possible for a bottled spice.
