Belfast watchmaker Nomadic makes 22% of its sales in the US.

Born in the eastern state of Bihar, Siddique migrated to Mumbai at the age of five with his father, a watchmaker.

It was a wedding gift, he said, from Greg’s grandfather, a master watchmaker in Los Angeles with unmatched technical prowess.

He settled in Seattle’s small Jewish community, based near today’s Yesler Terrace, and began working in the jewelry business, having apprenticed as a silversmith and watchmaker back in Germany.

Many founders, including the celebrated British watchmaker Roger W. Smith, staffed their companies’ tables.
