No one was hurt in the overnight attack in North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, local police official Rehmat Ullah said.

North Waziristan is a former stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban, who are also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

The attack happened in South Waziristan, a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Another militant was killed in the second raid in a former stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban in the North Waziristan district in the northwest.

Saturday's attack on the military post took place close to the Afghan border in north Waziristan.
